Who We Help
Fresh Starts supports youth and young adults, women, men, veterans, families, and individuals rebuilding their lives after difficult circumstances or major transitions.
Participants may be:
- Experiencing homelessness or housing instability
- Living in shelters or transitional housing
- Preparing for employment, school, or an interview
- Transitioning into independent housing
- Rebuilding after trauma, abuse, recovery, or re-entry
- Working toward greater confidence and stability
- Simply in need of care, dignity, and a fresh start

Fresh Starts Through Compassionate Cuts is a Clairsynergy community outreach program providing complimentary haircuts and grooming support to people experiencing homelessness, housing instability, recovery, re-entry, and major life transitions.
A haircut may seem like a small thing, but during a difficult season, it can help someone feel seen, cared for, confident, and ready to take the next step forward.
What We Provide
Complimentary Haircuts and Grooming
Licensed and experienced hairstylists and barbers volunteer their skills to provide professional, compassionate grooming services.
Confidence and Dignity
Looking in the mirror and recognizing yourself again can be meaningful during a period of transition.
Our goal is not simply to change someone’s appearance. It is to help restore confidence, dignity, and self-worth.

We are building a network of compassionate hairstylists and barbers who want to volunteer their time and talents to support people rebuilding their lives.

Professionals in complementary beauty and wellness fields may also have opportunities to participate in selected outreach events.
